Honda recalled about 115,000 cars and sports-utility vehicles over failure of their rearview cameras.

Certain 2018 to 2020 compact Fit cars and 2019 to 2022 subcompact HR-V SUVs may experience rearview camera failure when the engine is started with a key, according to a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration notice.

The failure stems from an audio display power circuit design flaw that renders the vehicles noncompliant with federal vehicle safety standards, the notice indicates. Honda dealers will update the software.

Honda is scheduled to mail notices to owners on July 8.
